Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The greatest wine from this estate to date is unquestionably their 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes. Made from 100% old-vine Grenache that was brought up in a combination of different sized barrels, some of which were new, it offers an incredible bouquet of black raspberries, caramelized cherries, violets, garrigue and lavender. Full-bodied, massively concentrated, voluptuous and decadent, yet always light on its feet, pure and elegant, this is a profound example of old-vine Grenache that should make any Southern Rhone-lover's eyes roll back in their head. It's still an infant and will drink nicely for another 15-20 years.

Up there with the best of the vintage (and appellation!) and a brilliant example of old vine Grenache, the 2007 Domaine de Cristia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (100% old vine Grenache that’s aged all in neutral wood) is pure kirsch, blackberry liqueur and framboise on the nose, with decadent licorice, crushed stone, graphite, and hints of flowers all soaring from the glass. Full-bodied, decadent, and heady, with absolutely brilliant levels of fruit, a seamless, weightless texture, and ripe, sweet tannin, this fabulous Grenache is a total thrill ride that should have two+ decades of prime drinking!

Wine Spectator
This is loaded with exotic layers of blueberry, crushed plum, fig and boysenberry fruit, all held together by well-embedded acidity. The long, creamy mouthfeel lets graphite, anise and spice notes define the finish. Gorgeous. Grenache. Best from 2010 through 2030.

Created by Etienne Grangeon 70 years ago, the property originally comprised 2 hectares of Grenache. It was developed further by the driving force of his son Alain, who joined the domaine in 1963. Passionate about viticulture, he notably contributed to the expansion of the domaine and planted improved grape varieties such as Syrah and Mourvèdre and created the identity of Cristia, based on the knowledge and respect of his soils.
Then, in 1999, Baptiste, Dominique and more recently Florent joined their father. Their priorities were to concentrate on selecting the best parcels in order to produce a wine of a great quality with a good ageing potential.
