This wine displays a brilliant deep red color and a seductive nose with aromas of ripe raspberry, cherry, violets, and subtle herbs and spices. Silky and well-balanced, it features refreshing acidity and fine tannins, with red fruit, herb, and spice notes complemented by a hint of oak that persist through the finish.
It pairs beautifully with charcuterie, grilled poultry, and pork.

The 2022 Les Poyeux is seductive and silky without becoming opulent. This is a carefully handled, open style from a clay-limestone part of Les Poyeux vineyard (whereas Clos Rougeard's Les Poyeux is planted on a sandy section of the vineyard) with a fruity and savory nature. There's an attractive smoky note that points to a touch of reduction, but it enhances rather than detracts from the 2022's overall complexity. Succulent tannins coat the mouth and lend a clean, fresh, moreish sensation.

Today Cabernet Franc produces outstanding single varietal wines across the wine-producing world. Somm Secret—One of California's best-kept secrets is the Happy Canyon appellation of Santa Barbara. Here Cabernet Franc shines as a single varietal wine or in blends, expressing sumptuous fruit, savory aromas and polished tannins.
Marked by great châteaux built with the same tuffeau limestone that is also responsible for the excavation of so many of the famed Loire caves, Saumur is famous for its Chenin blanc based sparkling wines. Inside the Saumur region, Saumur-Champigny creates some of the Loire’s greatest Cabernet Francs.
