Dark purple and velvet but bright. Pretty aromatics of violets and blackberry, cassis and licorice. There is a concentration and density here. Geranium, tobacco, green bean, tomato foliage at summer's end. Then comes as if a secondary bouquet of pastrami and cinnamon and oak spice and smoke. Cabernet as it should smell. Palate Here we find a savory and taut palate. That deep and concentrated and dense quality observed on the nose now translates into texture and mouth-weight. Ripe cassis and bright black and dark red berry flavors. A subtle yet hiding-in-plain-sight acidity. Tannins that are miniature yet everywhere and very much in their youth, waiting to enter stage left in a handful of years to further dry out and add texture to the very correct Cabernet.
