Winemaker Notes
The 2021 Estate Sauvignon Blanc bursts from the glass with a lively combination of lemon cream, lime zest and jasmine blossom on the nose. The palate is laced with vibrant acidity, showcasing delicious flavors of tropical kiwi fruit, ripe citrus and honeydew melon. This wine was fermented and aged in 100% stainless steel to highlight the primary Sauvignon Blanc aromatics and capture the bright, citrusy mineral notes. Produced from 3 three clones of Sauvignon Blanc and a dash of Semillon the blend adds texture and depth to the palate and accentuates the inviting fruit/floral notes of this complex wine.
Blend: 97% Sauvignon Blanc, 3% Semillon

Capable of a vast array of styles, Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing variety that equally reflects both terroir and varietal character. Though it can vary depending on where it is grown, a couple of commonalities always exist—namely, zesty acidity and intense aromatics. This variety is of French provenance. Somm Secret—Along with Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc is a proud parent of Cabernet Sauvignon. That green bell pepper aroma that all three varieties share is no coincidence—it comes from a high concentration of pyrazines (herbaceous aromatic compounds) inherent to each member of the family.
Known for elegant wines that combine power and finesse, Carneros is set in the rolling hills that straddle the southernmost parts of both Sonoma and Napa counties. The cooling winds from the abutting San Pablo Bay, combined with lots of midday California sunshine, create an ideal environment for producing wines with a perfect balance of crisp acidity and well-ripened fruit.
This cooler pocket of California lends itself to growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Carneros is an important source of sparkling wines made in the style of Champagne as well.
