Much more accessible and voluptuous than the 2021, the 2022 Jubilation By Colgin offers darker currants, saddle leather, savory flowers, and spicy, chocolaty notes. Based on 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot from IX Estate, Tychson Hill, and Vine Hill Ranch aged 20 months in French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, round, graceful, and balanced, with polished tannins and outstanding length. I love it today but see no reason it shouldn't keep for 15-20 years. Drink 2025-2045.

The 2022 Jubilation is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Aromatic and medium in body, with captivating finesse, the 2022 is seriously beautiful. I admire its precision, inner perfume and energy. Bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, spice and pomegranate are beautifully pushed forward. This is a fabulous effort made all the more notable by the challenges of the growing season.
Undoubtedly proving its merit over and over, Napa Valley is a now a leading force in the world of prestigious red wine regions. Though Cabernet Sauvignon dominates Napa Valley, other red varieties certainly thrive here. Important but often overlooked include Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties well-regarded on their own as well as for their blending capacities. Very old vine Zinfandel represents an important historical stronghold for the region and Pinot noir is produced in the cooler southern parts, close to the San Pablo Bay.
Perfectly situated running north to south, the valley acts as a corridor, pulling cool, moist air up from the San Pablo Bay in the evenings during the hot days of the growing season, which leads to even and slow grape ripening. Furthermore the valley claims over 100 soil variations including layers of volcanic, gravel, sand and silt—a combination excellent for world-class red wine production.
