Winemaker Notes
The 2022 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerhouse wine. It opens with bold black cherry, black currant, and dark chocolate aromas. The palate offers abundant dark brambly fruit flavors - blackberry, blueberry, cocoa, and spice. Velvety tannins carry this wine through the long, elegant finish.
Enjoy paired with bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese, lamb chops with garlic and herbs, or a variety of hearty meat dishes.
Blend: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec, 2% Merlot

A brilliant entry of plum blossom, and boysenberry, brimming with brown sugared cedar. Cocoa dust and the sultry tone of new leather forms around supple, yet chewy tannins. Well built from start to finish.

A very structured, bold and chewy wine that matches huge tannins with huge black fruit for balance. Made from 88% Knights Valley grapes, it’s 96% cabernet sauvignon, 2% malbec and 2% merlot. Full-bodied, chewy and dense, with blackberries, blueberries, graphite, cocoa and iron for a very hearty, powerful expression.

Displaying an inky red color, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley is brooding and concentrated with aromas of baked red plum, sweet baking spice, cedar, and sappy herbs. Full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a more grounded feel on the palate, more drying richness comes through on the finish with notes of turned earth.
A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbecand Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
A small and picturesque valley separating Napa Valley on its south border and Alexander Valley to its north, Knights Valley excels in similar varieties as the two aforementioned appellations, namely red Bordeaux varieties and blends, as well as Sauvignon blanc. Originally established by Beringer Vineyards, today several outstanding producers claim acreage here. The circadian cooling effects of the nearby Pacific Ocean create a nighttime respite for vineyards during the hot growing season.
