Quince and pear on the nose with some lemon notes. This has a creaminess on the palate, yes there's bright fruit but there's this gorgeous enveloping of dairy elements that is so satisfying like a lemon meringue pie, brioche or buttery patisserie items, not so much to overwhelm but to give the citrus fruits another dimension. Great energy and acidity here, lots of life and fun. Elegant and finessed but also showy and bright. A great wine. One to crack open with friends.

Aromas of sliced apples, fresh pears, melon rind and waxed lemons. Touches of thyme and sea salt. It’s medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and a waxy texture. More mineral finish. 45% semillon, 30% sauvignon blanc and 25% sauvignon gris.

A blend of 45% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Sauvignon Gris, the 2019 Blanc was harvested from the 11th to the 20th of September. The yields were 58 hectoliters per hectare this year, with about 42% of production going into the grand vin. Scents of warm peaches, honey-drizzled pears and lemon curd slip gracefully from the glass, followed by hints of nutmeg, coriander seed and jasmine. Medium-bodied, the palate lends provocative savory sparks to all the citrus and spicy layers, backed up with a racy backbone and finishing on a lingering spiced-apple note. Yum! Production is expected to be around 1,600 cases.

Coming from the team of Nicolas Thienpont, the 2019 Château Les Charmes-Godard Blanc offers a rich yet racy style in its ripe pineapple, peach, and citrus-driven aromas and flavors. Nicely textured and medium-bodied, with both richness and freshness, it's a terrific white to drink over the coming couple of years.

Crisp and bright, with sel gris, thyme and kiwifruit notes blitzing through. This is a pure, delightful white that begs for some oysters. Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris.

Sometimes light and crisp, other times rich and creamy, Bordeaux White Blends typically consist of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Often, a small amount of Muscadelle or Sauvignon Gris is included for added intrigue. Popularized in Bordeaux, the blend is often mimicked throughout the New World. Somm Secret—Sauternes and Barsac are usually reserved for dessert, but they can be served before, during or after a meal. Try these sweet wines as an aperitif with jamón ibérico, oysters with a spicy mignonette or during dinner alongside hearty Alsatian sausage.
