Green mango and papaya as well as limes on the nose follow through to a full body with lovely density and hints of phenolics that give it tension. Then there’s bright acidity at the end. Super second wine. Grapefruit. A blend of 90% sauvignon blanc and 10% semillon.

Sharp, precise and thrilling, a lovely shot of juicy lemon and pineapple - a hint of tropical fruit - before the mineral and salty white stone fruit - peach, pear and apple come in giving a tang and bite to the palate. Decisive and well defined with purity and tension. Good succulence too, stylish with mouthwatering acidity and a clean overall taste.

Looking at the two whites from this great address, the 2022 Pagodes De Cos Blanc is based on 57% Sauvignon Blanc and 43% Semillon. Crushed citrus, honeyed mint, tropical fruits, and a salty, seashell-like sense of minerality all emerge from this beauty, and it's medium-bodied, with a bright, vibrant mouthfeel, clean acidity, and a great finish.

Vinous
The 2022 Les Pagodes de Cos Blanc is a powerful, richly textured white. A blend of approximately equal parts Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, the 2022 Pagodes Blanc unfurls layers of lemon peel, sage, mint, crushed rocks and white pepper. There is a bit more freshness and verve here than in the Cos Blanc, but in this vintage, warm, dry weather added a fascinating touch of raciness that fills this out quite nicely.

The 2022 Pagodes de Cos Blanc reveals a delicately reduced bouquet of white fruits, confit citrus, lemon blossoms and boxwood. Moderately weighted and layered, it's satiny and round with an incisive mid-palate that leads to a finish defined by a crisp Sauvignon Blanc profile.
Sometimes light and crisp, other times rich and creamy, Bordeaux White Blends typically consist of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Often, a small amount of Muscadelle or Sauvignon Gris is included for added intrigue. Popularized in Bordeaux, the blend is often mimicked throughout the New World. Somm Secret—Sauternes and Barsac are usually reserved for dessert, but they can be served before, during or after a meal. Try these sweet wines as an aperitif with jamón ibérico, oysters with a spicy mignonette or during dinner alongside hearty Alsatian sausage.
Deeply colored, concentrated, and distinctive, St. Estephe is the go-to for great, age-worthy and reliable Bordeaux reds. Separated from Pauillac merely by a stream, St. Estephe is the farthest northwest of the highest classed villages of the Haut Medoc and is therefore subject to the most intense maritime influence of the Atlantic.
St. Estephe soils are rich in gravel like all of the best sites of the Haut Medoc but here the formation of gravel over clay creates a cooler atmosphere for its vines compared to those in the villages farther downstream. This results in delayed ripening and wines with higher acidity compared to the other villages.
While they can seem a bit austere when young, St. Estephe reds prove to live very long in the cellar. Traitionally dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, many producers now add a significant proportion of Merlot to the blend, which will soften any sharp edges of the more tannic, Cabernet.
The St. Estephe village contains two second growths, Chateau Montrose and Cos d’Estournel.
