Winemaker Notes

Intense red ruby color. On the nose, typical fruity and spicy hints of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The combination between mature and silky tannins and the spicy freshness gives this wine balance and pleasantness. Lingering aftertaste with intense aromas and a fresh spicy finish.

Fits to a little bit of everything, especially antipasti of sliced cold meets and cheeses, excellent to pasta with meat or vegetable sauces.

Medicinal herbs lift from the glass of the 2021 Oltresogno with aromas of eucalyptus, fresh mint, black cherry, and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, it brings fresh energy with clean lift and a refined feel, without being overdone. It’s pure and inviting, and I’m very impressed with these wines from Campo Alle Comete. They have precision without any excess weight and a silky, stony texture underpinning the wines.

A fresh cab with clean aromas and flavors of blackcurrants and berries. Medium body with fine tannins and a tight finish.

The nose mixes baking aromas of vanilla, spices, berries and cherries with a lurking, sharp sanguinity. On the palate, that balance continues, with black cherries bringing the fruit and a woody earthiness providing balance. Structure comes from dense tannins and substantial acid.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
