Winemaker Notes

Apple and pear notes flourish in the incredible aromas and first sips of this wine. The rich, round entry is full of fruit, including touches of tropical pineapple and guava. The elegant and creamy mouthfeel wraps around the fruit and leads to spicy notes of nutmeg and toasty vanilla, left behind by over 8 months of aging in American oak. The finish lingers like the last bite of that buttery creme brule.

Enjoy this wine with just about everything!

This family run estate founded by Chris Bogle is now into its third generation, with siblings Ryan and Jody Bogle joining their father Warren in farming cool-climate sites near Sacramento. For those looking for a good value, fruit-driven Chardonnay this won't disappoint. It's full of ripe, juicy nectarine and tropical fruits, plus a coconut twist and cashew creaminess from fermentation in American oak followed by nine months spent on its lees.

California’s most praised white wine, Chardonnay is also the state’s most planted white grape variety. Diverse terrain and microclimates allow for an incredible range of wine styles.

Chardonnay planted in the cooler, coastal zones takes on bright characteristics like lemon zest, key lime, green apple and wet flint. For this style, look to the chilly Sonoma Coast, Carneros, Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Lucia Highlands and Edna Valley.

The inland zones of California’s coast, such as the Russian River, Sonoma, Napa and Livermore Valleys maintain a more Goldilocks-esque climate where both styles go. Early picking retains acidity and creates a leaner style but leaving the grapes to hang creates an approachable Chardonnay, balancing richness and finesse.

Chardonnay also plays a major part in the sparkling wine production of the Anderson Valley and Carneros.
