Winemaker Notes
These vines are pergola-trained and about one hundred years old on average and planted between 500 and 900 meters of altitude above sea-level. Vinification and aging is done in inox tanks. Fresh, salty, mineral-driven and hugely refreshing; quintessential island wine.
There are hundreds of white grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent single varietal wines. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics, as well as aroma and flavor profiles.
Set of islands off the coast of Morocco and south of Madeira that host a wide range of indigenous and unique grape varieties. Soils are volcanic and recent subsidies from the local government has led to a revival of the islands’ old vines.
