Winemaker Notes

It has an intense and bright red bigarreau cherry color. On the nose, it presents complex aromas to ripe fruits with sweet spicy notes provided by the oak ageing. Tasty, fleshy and fruity in mouth , with ripe tannins and a long and elegant aftertaste.

It is a great match with stewed and grilled meat, as well as with dry and semi-dry cheeses. Perfect for all kinds of Iberian and non-Iberian cold meats.

There's no denying that this is a heavily oaked Rioja with toast, resin, vanilla and cheesy aromas alongside fully ripe blackberry and prune notes. There's energy to the palate, while previously mentioned heavy oak spawns flavors of vanilla and spice to go with berry fruit. A mouth-coating, woody finish stands out on this compartmentalized Tempranillo-led blend. Drink through 2023.

This expressive red offers kirsch, toasted vanilla and bitter chocolate flavors, with pomegranate acidity and accents of fresh herbs. Features a silky texture, with well-integrated tannins and a racy finish. A modern, fruit-driven style. Drink now through 2021. 10,000 cases made.

Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.

Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
