Winemaker Notes
This wine is made from Garnacha Blanca from Edetària's vineyards located in la Plana de Gandesa. It is a combination of two harvests: an earlier harvest provides all the freshness and fruit flavors, and a second harvest, about two weeks later, which provides Grenache's structure to the wine. After fermentation assemblage is made and wine is aged on its own natural lees thereby obtaining delicacy and fineness.
Aromas of fresh fruit (pear and melon). Powerful entry, along with overwhelming fruit notes, lush with a citrus finish granting persistence to the wine.

Plenty of white nectarines and melons on the nose, following through to a dry, saline palate with a chalky texture. Garnatxa blanca.
With hundreds of white grape varieties to choose from, winemakers have the freedom to create a virtually endless assortment of blended white wines. In many European regions, strict laws are in place determining the set of varieties that may be used in white wine blends, but in the New World, experimentation is permitted and encouraged. Blending can be utilized to enhance balance or create complexity, lending different layers of flavors and aromas. For example, a variety that creates a soft and full-bodied white wine blend, like Chardonnay, would do well combined with one that is more fragrant and naturally high in acidity. Sometimes small amounts of a particular variety are added to boost color or aromatics. Blending can take place before or after fermentation, with the latter, more popular option giving more control to the winemaker over the final qualities of the wine.
The highest wine growing zone in Spanish Cataluña, Terra Alta is south of Priorat and Montsant. Here growers are following the trends of Priorat, recovering Garnacha blanca vines for white wines and focusing on quality red blends.
