2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Double Gold
Offers spirits aficionados the opportunity to enjoy BenRiach’s single malt whisky “straight from the cask.” Master Blender Rachel Barrie hand-picked whiskies finished in bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and Oloroso sherry casks that were then blended together to create a balanced single malt.
Late summer harvest gold. Aromas of toffee apple, apricot and orange blossom with a ginger-spiced barley zing. Creme caramel and milk chocolate surround sugared almond and ripe nectarine glazed with lime. A sweet heather smoke slowly builds leaving a lingering peat note alongside Scottish tablet and rich stewed barley.

Today Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are prized by enthusiasts and aficionados the world over for their rarity, age and complexity. By definition these must be produced in Scotland from a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley, using a pot still. The appearance, aroma and flavor of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky can vary widely depending on whether it was produced in the Highlands, Lowlands Islands, Speyside, Islay or Campbelltown regions.
