Beaulieu Vineyard Signet Collection Viognier 1997

As our Viognier vineyards gain in maturity, we notice that each new vintage provides more fruit intensity and opulent texture. 1997 gave us fruit that was physiologically ripe, but not overly alcoholic, providing a wonderfully exotic but lively wine. A unique, toasted pumpkin seed scent combines with the more classic apricot and peach aromas of Viognier to offer something special in the nose. Rich viscous peachy flavors are balanced by a fine, minerally streak of acidity. A hint of toasty-vanilla oak in the finish adds another flavor dimension. This is a wine to serve with a rich grilled sea bass, or an asian-influenced chicken satay!
