Winemaker Notes

#21 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2005!

Deep brick, earthen red with youthful purple hues. Intense lifted aromas of ripe cherry, plum, spice and pepper with subtle chocolatey, coffee like overtones. Full, rich, ripe and fleshy, the palate delivers all that the nose promises. Ripe fruit is harmoniously integrated with subtle oak characters providing a long, satisfying, velvety finish.

Serve with richly flavored meats, pastas and strong cheeses.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2002 E & E Black Pepper Shiraz spent 18 months in French and American oak, 30% new. It is opaque purple-colored with an alluring nose of cedar, pencil lead, lavender, and blueberry. This leads to a Shiraz with good depth and grip, ripe flavors, and enough tannin to evolve.

Barossa Valley Estate wines are a contemporary expression of the wines that made the Barossa Valley great. They capture the distinctive elegance, finesse and vibrant fruit flavours of one of the world's most celebrated wine regions.

Small in size, the Barossa Valley is regarded as one of the most significant red wine regions on earth. Its unique ancient friable red clay loam soils and warm climate combine to create wines of extraordinary varietal character.

Located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Barossa Valley Estate focuses exclusively on premium red wines from the Barossa Valley. Barossa Valley Estate produces a range that represents the wine styles that made the Barossa great – Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and GSM.
