Distiller Notes

Susannah and Olivier were tired of the grind of running two successful restaurants in Sausalito. So, they harnessed the energy from their shared midlife crisis to start a distillery. Straying from the industrial, volume-driven approach of other distilleries, they took a more traditional approach.
Inspired by French roots, they use a European copper still and incorporate the world-class, local produce into their spirits. Inspired by the local geography in Marin County, the name Alamere comes from a unique tidefall (a waterfall that empties onto the beach). The name just so happens to mean 'to the sea' in French. We all fell for it.

Made from the distillation of anything containing fermentable sugars, Straight Vodka is a clear and unaged spirit. Cereal grains like wheat, rye and barley are the most commonly used bases, but modern Vodkas are now made from crops as diverse as sugar beets, grapes and potatoes. Ideally Straight Vodkas should be colorless, odorless and flavorless. They are sipped chilled and neat, or used as a base for a variety of cocktails, from the Martini to the Cosmopolitan.
