2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Gold Medal Winner
Mellowed for 12 years in handmade oak casks, Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a smooth, sweet dram offering rich rewards for those who like to dig deeper. This is a whisky that is one step beyond the conventional, mainstream offerings and a more interesting choice than the classic malts commonly available. Aberfeldy is distilled in Alambique copper pot stills, which contributes to the crafting of a fruity, classic highland style of whisky.
Scents of spices and honeyed plump fruits. Syrupy, with lots of vanilla and fudge and just a whisper of smoke on the finish.
Aberfeldy Distillery is nestled within a lush valley in the foothills of the Central Highlands of Scotland, within the quaint village of Aberfeldy, Perthshire. A land steeped in folklore and fables. Founded by the two Dewar's brothers: Tommy and John Alexander, the distillery rose up in 1898 and was designed by the famous architect, Charles Doig.
“A good gulp of hot Scotch Whisky at bedtime–it’s not very scientific, but it helps!”
Alexander Fleming, Scottish inventor of penicillin, prescribed it as a cure for the common cold. Today Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are prized by enthusiasts and aficionados the world over for their rarity, age and complexity. By definition these must be produced in Scotland from a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley, using a pot still. The appearance, aroma and flavor of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky can vary widely depending on whether it was produced in the Highlands, Lowlands Islands, Speyside, Islay or Campbelltown regions.
