Winemaker Notes

This 100% Cabernet Franc wine is a stunning representation of the diverse micro-crus of the vineyard blocks hand-selected for this vintage. Inviting aromas of sweet mint and vanilla bean delight the senses, underscored by white pepper spice. The palate exudes elegance with a distinctive brightness and soft, fine tannins. Flavors of tart cherries and black licorice are rounded out by a lingering finish of cedar and balsamic notes. A truly remarkable wine to be enjoyed for years to come.

Lots of blackberries and walnuts on the nose with some violets. Full-bodied, yet lively and agile, with polished tannins that run across the palate and show class and focus. Bright and vivid. Needs three or four years to come together. One of the best I have had from here.

Made with Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Arcanum (in a heavy glass bottle) is all power and brawn, especially in this vintage that concluded with warm temperatures at the end of the growing season. This is an inky and impenetrable wine with thick layers of black fruit, blackberry preserves, grilled rosemary and exotic spice. It ages in French oak for 12 months with 60% new oak.

The herbal side of Cabernet Franc is on display in this red -- in the best sense. Delivers grassy, bell pepper and rosemary notes that mingle with black currant, blackberry and licorice flavors. Balanced and long, with the fruit extending on the finish.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
