Commonwealth Wine School, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is an approved program provider for all nine WSET courses: WSET Levels 1 through 4 Wine, Levels 1 through 3 Spirits, and Levels 1 and 3 Saké. Classes are held in-person as well as in a hybrid format of virtual live/in-person. Online self-study options are available and wines for courses can be found through Wine.com.

This introductory wine certification course teaches students through sight, smell, and taste, to understand more about wine. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to taste wine using a systematic approach and be able to identify the main styles of wine. You’ll also learn the key principles of food and wine pairing and be able to apply these to your own food and wine choices. Tasting is an essential party of this course.
The Level 2 Award in Wine Online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course but through a supported and Interactive Online Classroom which allows you to study alongside your peers under the guidance of a dedicated educator. This is a five week, instructor led online course with fixed start and end dates. The online course has 6 tasting assignments, with 2 wines each. In addition, the Level 2 Specifications recommend up to 36 more wines to taste as you progress through the course.
