Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2012 ZaHa Malbec is blended with 7-8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot (to give it more structure). It is ripe, with aromas of damsons, black cherries and spices, but balanced. The palate is full-bodied, with juicy flavors and fleshy tannins that are quite succulent and offer good balance between alcohol and acidity. A great expression of ripe Malbec. Drink 2014-2020.

Candied berry and sweet oak are draped all over a ripe, rich nose. This is bright, fruity and cleanly made. Flavors of blueberry and cassis run sweet and oaky, while milk chocolate and residual berry fruit push the finish. The wine balances oakiness and sweetness.
Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
