Distiller Notes
Young & Yonder Straight Bourbon is a four-grain high-malt recipe that creates a wonderful balance of grain, malt, and oak character. This Bourbon is aged in 30-gallon new charred American oak barrels for over two years and is non-chill filtered. Each batch is less than 500 bottles and is slowly proofed down to 93 with our four times filtered water. The result is a well-balanced, easy to drink west coast bourbon.
Rich amber in appearance. Aromas of maple, vanilla, and fresh apples exude from the glass. Flavors of toasted oats, graham cracker, and maple syrup make up the palate, culminating into a warm honey and mild cinnamon finish.
Mash Bill: Corn, malted rye, malted wheat, & malted barley
Although Bourbon may be produced anywhere in the United States, it is most commonly associated with Bourbon County, Kentucky, where it has been produced since the late 18th century. Made from a mash bill containing at least 51% corn, the Bourbon Whiskey distillate must be aged in new, charred white oak barrels. Bourbon Whiskeys are bottled at eighty proof (40% abv) or higher and cannot contain any added color or flavor. A versatile spirit that can be sipped neat, with water or on the rocks, it also performs nicely added to cocktails like the Old Fashioned.
