Winemaker Notes
There are hundreds of white grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent single varietal wines. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics, as well as aroma and flavor profiles.
Funneling the moderating effect of the Atlantic Ocean inland, the Hudson River’s shale, slate, schist and limestone soils support the production of white varieties such as Riesling, Chardonnnay and the French hybrid, Seyval Blanc.
