Professional Ratings

  • 97 James Suckling

Wild aromas of white truffles, chocolate, fresh herbs, blackberries and a hint of basil. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that run the length of the wine and give it structure and light chewiness. Juicy at the end. Pure merlot. From organically grown grapes. Needs three or four years to come completely together.

  • 95 Wine Enthusiast

A compelling nose unveils aromas of espresso, vanilla bean, candied orange peel, and Luxardo cherry. Ripe, dark, luxurious fruit elements and wal- nuts define the palate, with undertones of more warm, caramelized coffee, and sleek tannins enhancing the aura of sophistication.

  • 95 Wine Spectator

Supple and elegant, this red exudes cherry, pomegranate, plum and wild herb flavors. Floral, mushroom and truffle notes render this distinctive. Remains juicy and long but also fresh. Merlot.

  • 93 Vinous
The 2022 Sette, 100% Merlot, offers up ripe red-toned fruit, rose petal, mint, cinnamon and cedar. Soft, plush contours wrap it up together. The 2022 is a very pretty, alluring wine from Sette Ponti.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
