Winemaker Notes

Earth, spice, red cherry and strawberry on the aromatics carry through to the palate and a spicy finish. The 2007 JV Pinot was blended to be approachable and balanced while showcasing the elegance of the Stoller site.

Professional Ratings

  • 90 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There are 5800 cases of Stoller Vineyard's 2007 Pinot Noir JV Estate. The JV stands for "junior vines," the younger vines from the estate. Cherry red in color, it offers up a fragrant bouquet of cinnamon, clove, and assorted red fruits. Elegant and medium-bodied on the palate, it has plenty of sweet fruit, lively acidity, and nicely integrated oak. This tasty effort will evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now.
  • 90 Wine & Spirits
Rich and seemingly superripe when first poured, this well-priced pinot fills out with air to deliver flavors of cherry and orange zest, with plenty of oak marking the finish.

Stoller Family Estate Winery Video

Stoller Family Estate is one of Oregon's most highly regarded vineyards and wineries. Pioneering Oregonian and Founder Bill Stoller purchased his family's second-generation farm in 1993 with the vision of cultivating an enduring legacy for the land and Oregon wine industry. Over the last 30 years, he has patiently transformed the 400-acre property into the largest contiguous vineyard in the Dundee Hills. We continue to look for new ways to refine and protect that legacy so it can thrive for generations to come.

Stoller Family Estate features the world's first LEED® Gold certified winery, a reflection of our ongoing commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible winemaking.

Home of some of the planet’s most amazingly elegant and expressive Pinot noir, the Willamette Valley is a pastoral, mixed landscape of green, bucolic rolling hills, dramatic forestlands and small, independent, friendly wine growers. As a leader in environmental stewardship, the valley has some of the nation’s most protective land use policies, with two-thirds of its vineyards farmed sustainably and over half, organically. While the valley claims a cool, continental climate, and is heavily influenced by the cold, moist winds of the Pacific Ocean, its warm and dry summers allow for the steady, even ripening of Pinot noir.

The potential of Willamette Valley Pinot noir continues to attract the investment of serious growers and winemakers both locally and from abroad, as naturally the finished wines bring accolades from professionals and enthusiasts. With a range of styles from delicate dried cherry, raspberry and hibiscus to stronger notes of truffle, mocha, plum and spice, a fine Willamette Valley Pinot noir is a perfect expression of both character and grace.
