Winemaker Notes
The color is bright, deep and clear ruby-red. On the nose it is dense with strength and density. Aromas are focused on red fruits such as morello cherries, blackberries, red cherries as well as dried herbs, spices and a mineral touch. On the mouth it has a medium-to full body with an intriguing acidity and very qualitative tannins. Flavors of red fruits, earth and minerals along with tobacco and spices are apparent. The aftertaste is long, complex, and constantly evolving.

Beyond the usual suspects, there are hundreds of red grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent single varietal wines, while others are better suited for use as blending grapes. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics, as well as aroma and flavor profiles, offering much to be discovered by the curious wine lover. In particular, Portugal and Italy are known for having a multitude of unique varieties but they can really be found in any region.
