Winemaker Notes
The fruit ripened elegantly, slightly earlier than historic average, and they picked between August 17th and September 7th. The shyer yields and smaller clusters overall preserved a greater concentration of minerality and electric vibrancy that is expressive of site and true to the vintage. The fruit was selectively hand-picked and gently pressed into tank. The wine-cold settled overnight before being inertly racked into small fermentation vessels, where it remains throughout fermentation and élevage.

Intense aromas of sliced lemons, mandarins, jasmine and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied with brightness and energy. Wonderful length.

Based on 92% Sauvignon Blanc and 8% Semillon, aged for nine months in equal parts stainless steel, concrete, and neutral French oak, the 2024 Sauvignon Blanc comes from a site in Redwood Valley in the Mendocino appellation. It offers crushed citrus, honeyed lemon, mint, and dried herb nuances on the nose. Medium-bodied, with a pure, juicy, focused mouthfeel, it has bright acidity and an outstanding finish. It's beautiful today in its bright, lively youth yet should also age gracefully for upwards of a decade. It comes closest in style to a lively Graves Blanc. Drink 2025-2035.

Verbena and thyme notes lead the way, followed quickly by lemon peel, fennel and white peach flavors. A salted butter detail slakes on the finish.
Capable of a vast array of styles, Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing variety that equally reflects both terroir and varietal character. Though it can vary depending on where it is grown, a couple of commonalities always exist—namely, zesty acidity and intense aromatics. This variety is of French provenance. Somm Secret—Along with Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc is a proud parent of Cabernet Sauvignon. That green bell pepper aroma that all three varieties share is no coincidence—it comes from a high concentration of pyrazines (herbaceous aromatic compounds) inherent to each member of the family.
A large and diverse appellation within California’s North Coast AVA, Mendocino is home to several smaller sub-regions—most notably the Anderson Valley. This scenic region, with rolling hills covered in redwood forests as well as vineyards, is one of the world’s top producers of certified organically-grown grapes. Due to wide geographical and climatic variation, a vast array of wine styles can be found here.
