Winemaker Notes
The 2015 Tarot Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful but elegant, velvety smooth and intriguing. With notes of violets, dark berries, bramble and warm black mission fig, the nose is reminiscent of walking through a blackberry patch. From the first sip, the
Tarot Cabernet provides balanced intensity and structure. Notes of blue and black berries mingle on your palate with lavender, black cherry and all spice, finishing with a long, graceful mouthfeel.
Pair with Crispy Pork Belly or Duck Confit.
Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon (clones 4 & 8), 7% Merlot, 4% Petite Sirah, 4% Petit Verdot

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Blended of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Petit Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the 2015 Tarot Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color and exuberant nose of warm plums, crushed cherries and crème de cassis with touches of Indian spices, fragrant earth and violets with a waft of lavender. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it fills the palate with black berry and earthy layers, finishing with the lovely velvety texture paving the way.

The 2015 Tarot Cabernet Sauvignon offers more black cherry, spice and hints of toast, as well as medium to full-bodied richness and a tighter, more focused, concentrated style. It’s terrific now but should evolve gracefully.

One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wine. Today the Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without the other. But it wasn’t until the 1970s that this marriage came to light; sudden international recognition rained upon Napa with the victory of the Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1976 Judgement of Paris.
Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today, covering half of the land under vine, commanding the highest prices per ton and earning the most critical acclaim. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
