Winemaker Notes
The 2023 His Vermentino stands out for its generous aromatics. Notes of white florals and early summer peaches lift from the glass. Stone fruits, brine and chammomile fill the palate. This orange rendition of Vermetino is vibrant and focused.

The 2023 Vermentino Las Brisas His is especially fine this year. It was picked two weeks later than the Hers and spent two weeks on the skins, both of which helped flesh out the mid-palate nicely. Orange peel, spice, tangerine oil, rose petal and dried flowers fill in the layers.
A fantastic, aromatic white grape that grows with great success in Sardinia, Tuscany and in lesser proportions on the island of Corsica. Somm Secret—Vermentino is thought to be genetically identical to Liguria’s Pigato grape and Peidmont’s Favorita. It comprises a large proportion of the whites in southern France where it is called Rolle.
Known for elegant wines that combine power and finesse, Carneros is set in the rolling hills that straddle the southernmost parts of both Sonoma and Napa counties. The cooling winds from the abutting San Pablo Bay, combined with lots of midday California sunshine, create an ideal environment for producing wines with a perfect balance of crisp acidity and well-ripened fruit.
This cooler pocket of California lends itself to growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Carneros is an important source of sparkling wines made in the style of Champagne as well.
