Winemaker Notes
The 2023 Vermentino is lithe and refreshing. Eminently mouth watering it bursts with lemon rind, white florals and salty sea spray. The palate is zippy and crunchy but rounds out with texture and depth.

The 2023 Vermentino Las Brisas Hers is a brisk, dry white. Lemon peel, chalk, mint, white pepper and lime give this airy Vermentino terrific freshness. The Hers was done in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak.
A fantastic, aromatic white grape that grows with great success in Sardinia, Tuscany and in lesser proportions on the island of Corsica. Somm Secret—Vermentino is thought to be genetically identical to Liguria’s Pigato grape and Peidmont’s Favorita. It comprises a large proportion of the whites in southern France where it is called Rolle.
Known for elegant wines that combine power and finesse, Carneros is set in the rolling hills that straddle the southernmost parts of both Sonoma and Napa counties. The cooling winds from the abutting San Pablo Bay, combined with lots of midday California sunshine, create an ideal environment for producing wines with a perfect balance of crisp acidity and well-ripened fruit.
This cooler pocket of California lends itself to growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Carneros is an important source of sparkling wines made in the style of Champagne as well.
