Distiller Notes

At the heart of Screaming Titan is a bold four-grain mash bill featuring 30% wheat—a deliberate choice that brings softness, nuance, and lifted aromatics to the final blend. The wheat tempers the natural richness of the corn, allowing layers of stone fruit, honey, and floral character to emerge with clarity and grace. This limited release is composed of 198 hand-selected barrels, each aged a minimum of 5 years. These barrels were chosen for their balance, fruit-forward profiles, and seamless integration of oak and grain. Expect vibrant notes of nectarine, sweet tea, and apple blossom on the nose. The palate opens with honeycomb and flaky pastry, evolving into a lush peaches & cream experience. The finish is warm, soft, and lingering—a gentle, elegant close that invites another sip.

Professional Ratings

  • 94 Tasting Panel
This extroverted 5-barrel production of a four-grain mash bill (including 30% wheat and 59% corn) is named for a 323-foot redwood tree. Walnut toffee, black pepper, tree bark, and peach tart lend a burly character, while orange peel and the warming sensation of chocolate croissant grace the midpalate. A well-defined attention-getter.
  • 90 Whisky Advocate

Redwood Empire’s first wheater offers woody aromas with wisps of grassy fields, honeyed oat, and vanilla extract. On the palate the vanilla and the smoke blend wonderfully, with s’mores, campfire, and dried oak coming together. While it is light on the spices, with only a faint pepperiness, the prominence of the oak adds complexity and a little depth to an otherwise straightforward sip.

Although Bourbon may be produced anywhere in the United States, it is most commonly associated with Bourbon County, Kentucky, where it has been produced since the late 18th century. Made from a mash bill containing at least 51% corn, the Bourbon Whiskey distillate must be aged in new, charred white oak barrels. Bourbon Whiskeys are bottled at eighty proof (40% abv) or higher and cannot contain any added color or flavor. A versatile spirit that can be sipped neat, with water or on the rocks, it also performs nicely added to cocktails like the Old Fashioned.
