Distiller Notes

From the Highlands of Jalisco, Tequila Pueblo Viejo is one of the top leading brands in Mexico. It is created at Casa San Matias, a family owned distillery founded in 1889. The work of San Matias is more than just delivering the finest tasting tequila to the consumers palate, it honors the tradition of tequila.
The quality of the tequila is backed by over 130 years of history, which has enabled them to preserve and respect their time honored, traditional production methods. Consistently delivering the ideal flavor balance and best quality, Tequila Pueblo Viejo is the authentic tequila experience.

Because of their great complexity, Anejo Tequilas are most often used as a substitute for Brandy or Whiskey in cocktails like the Manhattan or Old Fashioned. Anejo Tequilas must be aged in oak barrels for between one and three years, while Extra Anejo refers to any Tequila aged longer than three years. The prolonged contact with the oak barrel allows the wood to make a much stronger impression on the Tequila by adding toffee, caramel and vanilla to the sweet, spicy agave flavor profile.
