Winemaker Notes

Bright youthful garnet color of medium intensity. Sweet ripe cherry and red plum aromas with a hint of minerality and spicy pipe tobacco. Aromas are medium+ intensity. Aromas repeat as flavors, with a spicy lingering finish.

Professional Ratings

This Pinot Noir includes 30% Hyland Vineyard fruit. Brisk black-cherry scents and flavors come with a roasted, grilled quality. Those charred notes carry over into the finish, which is surprisingly substantial for a wine at this price. Editors' Choice.

Weird Times. Great Wines.
In a place where flannel is formalwear and brunch is a competitive sport, Portlandia Wines was born to bottle the free-spirited flavor of the Pacific Northwest. Portlandia isn’t about swirling and pontificating. It’s about sipping while paddleboarding, pouring generously at backyard hangs, and choosing wine that makes you smile before the first glass. With award-winning quality and a “play hard, work later” mantra, we’re on a mission to make wine less precious and more… Portlandia. Call it craft with a wink. A little irreverent, always authentic. That’s Portlandia.

The Best of the Pacific Northwest
Portlandia embodies the free spirit of the region and the wild beauty it contains. Whether out in nature or in the city, there’s a Portlandia for that.

Flannels Optional
Experience the Pacific Northwest with us. Flannel isn’t required, but it doesn’t hurt. Portlandia’s wines are a tribute to the Pacific Northwest, its stunning surroundings and never too serious spirit of adventure. Consider our wines an invitation to discover the cultural and natural beauty of the region, even when you’re not here.

While the Willamette Valley and Pinot Noir are a like a fairy tale match made in heaven, most of Oregon is in fact, a glorious source of Pinot noir. Claiming over half of its total area under vine, Pinot noir also thrives in Southern Oregon’s Umpqua and Rogue Valleys where sedimentary and volcanic soils dominate hillside vineyards and cool temperatures create the perfect environment for Pinot noir. Also, Oregon’s Columbia Gorge is becoming increasingly popular for Pinot noir production. What sets Oregon Pinot noir apart from the Pinot of other regions, both New and Old World, is its innate combination of grace with both power and restraint.
