Winemaker Notes

As its name suggests, this red wine is characterized by aromas of the Mediterranean scrub and the enticing scent of sea salt. Mediterra is a wine with great personality that expresses the intensity of the whole, intact fruit, kissed by sun and sea.

Blend: 40% Syrah, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon

This is dark-fruited and chocolatey on the nose with hints of spices and moist earth. Structured and meaty on the dry, medium- to full-bodied palate with velvety, caressing tannins. Lingering and compact finish.

The 2022 Mediterra (Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) is a very pretty mid-weight red to drink now and over the next handful of years. Attractive floral and spice overtones lift a core of red cherry/plum fruit. This is nicely done.

A blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, the Poggio al Tesoro 2022 Mediterra shows hints of vintage ripeness with sweet blackberry and baked plum. The wine goes down easily thanks to it fruit-forward approach, soft tannins and subtle sweetness. This vintage does offer some crunch to its fruit, and this adds to a sense of lingering freshness.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
