Distiller Notes
The ‘Old Pulteney’ Clipper Round the World Race yacht departed from London’s Tower Bridge on Sunday 1st September with a very special cargo on board: the first case of a brand new limited edition Old Pulteney inspired by the intrepid maritime adventure in the 13-14 Clipper Race - ‘Old Pulteney Navigator’.
Rich golden honeycomb color. Sweet and crisp aromas: tangy apples and dried fruit with hints of chocolate and fresh vanilla. Full bodied and rich: a burst of cocoa, honey and oranges with a long-lasting, spicy finish and suggestion of the sea at the end.

Though it's not intensely aromatic, showing only shy hints of caramel, fruit and smoke, this Scotch is concentrated on the palate and evolves with every sip. Add just a splash of water, and it sings with honeysuckle sweetness up front, turning smoky, then fruity, with Sherry-like accents that fade into a smooth vanilla-caramel exit. Matured in former Bourbon and Sherry casks. Best Buy.
“A good gulp of hot Scotch Whisky at bedtime–it’s not very scientific, but it helps!”
Alexander Fleming, Scottish inventor of penicillin, prescribed it as a cure for the common cold. Today Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are prized by enthusiasts and aficionados the world over for their rarity, age and complexity. By definition these must be produced in Scotland from a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley, using a pot still. The appearance, aroma and flavor of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky can vary widely depending on whether it was produced in the Highlands, Lowlands Islands, Speyside, Islay or Campbelltown regions.
