Novo Fogo Graciosa Cachaca Front Bottle Shot
Novo Fogo Graciosa Cachaca Front Bottle Shot

Distiller Notes

Graciosa is a reflection of our love for the rainforest and the historic road that crosses it on its way from the mountains to the ocean. This expression is aged for 2 years in repurposed oak and finished for 18 months in castanheira do Pará (Brazil nut) barrels, lending it a vibrantly aromatic yet creamy disposition: starting with pecan and orchids on the nose, the palate morphs into cherry custard and finishes with pleasant notes of soft clove and anise.

This incredibly complex sipper entices with aromas of vanilla, honey and ripe banana. These are echoed on the palate, layered with surprising dried cherry and dusty cocoa notes, which linger into the long, gently spiced finish. A good option for an Old Fashioned variation.

Brazil’s national drink, and by far their most popular spirit with well over a thousand domestic producers, Cachaca is just now making its debut in the U.S. In many ways it is similar to Rum. But while most modern Rums are made from molasses or other sugar by-products, only fresh sugar cane juice can be used to make Cachaca. This yields a more floral and herbaceous flavor profile compared to Rum. Both unaged (prata, “silver”) and barrel-aged (ouro, “gold”) expressions are available and used as a base for tropical drinks, like the traditional, Caipirinha.
