Nikka Days Blended Whisky Front Bottle Shot
Nikka Days Blended Whisky Front Bottle Shot

Distiller Notes

Nikka Days is a subtle blend of grain and malt whiskies, meant for enjoyment at any time by those who appreciate fine whisky on a regular basis. The blend is structured by the mellow and smooth Coffey Grain Whisky and aromatic non-peated Miyagikyo malts, along with a touch of Coffey Malt Whisky and Yoichi malts to enhance the bright sweetness and rich body. The complex and delicate blend results in an extremely silky mouthfeel, with fruity and floral flavors that rise and expand, leaving behind a delightful aftertaste. Both the flavors and appearance of Nikka DAYS were designed to highlight the bright side of whisky and whisky consumption. This elegant whisky can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, in a simple highball or refreshing cocktail.

Nose: Fresh and fruity with white flowers, orange blossoms, pear, and citrus. Palate: Light and smooth – cereals, malt, toffee, roasted nuts and vanilla. Finish: Dry apricot, malt, vanilla, elusive peat.

Proof: 80

Pale amber color, light and smooth with toasty malt and caramel flavors; a blend of grain and malt whiskies that is fresh and incredibly velvety with a hint of sweetness; mellow, soft and charming with good length.

Sharing a great deal with Scotch in terms of production methods and ingredients, today’s hugely successful commercial market of Japanese Whisky owes much to the research of Masataka Taketsuru. In 1918, this Japanese national travelled to Scotland with the intention of studying organic chemistry but instead became fascinated with Scotch Whisky production. Similar to Scotch Whisky, Japanese Whisky also uses malted barley as the fermentation base and long-term aging in wooden barrels. However, the often-used Mizunara oak, rather than French or American oak, imparts uniquely spicy and citrus-like characteristics to a Japanese Whisky.
