Distiller Notes
The Mina Real Reposado expression is barreled in used Mexican brandy casks, just as has been done in the region since the days of Spanish brandy's origins in the country.
Proof: 80
Reposado translates literally to ‘rested’ and refers to a Mezcal that has aged in oak barrels between sixty days to one year. This resting time allows the smoky, vegetal flavors and aromas of the young new-make spirit to soften and mellow, letting the complex qualities of the agave and barrel emerge. Depending on the type of barrel used, the wood will impart both color and flavor components of its own, such as molasses, toffee and vanilla.
