From the lieu-dit of Les Gréchons but not entitled to the premier cru appellation, Méo's 2017 Ladoix offers up aromas of lemon oil, lime zest, crushed mint and wet stones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, chalky and phenolic, with an incisive, mouthwatering profile even in this warm vintage.

One of the most popular and versatile white wine grapes, Chardonnay offers a wide range of flavors and styles depending on where it is grown and how it is made. While it tends to flourish in most environments, Chardonnay from its Burgundian homeland produces some of the most remarkable and longest lived examples. California produces both oaky, buttery styles and leaner, European-inspired wines. Somm Secret—The Burgundian subregion of Chablis, while typically using older oak barrels, produces a bright style similar to the unoaked style. Anyone who doesn't like oaky Chardonnay would likely enjoy Chablis.

Another charming village of the Côte de Beaune district of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, Ladoix-Serrigny produces mainly Premier Cru Pinot Noir, but also some Chardonnay. Interestingly, some of the villages’ Premiers Crus vineyards overlap with nearby Aloxe-Corton.
