Meletti Anisette is one of Italy’s oldest liqueurs produced using Silvio Meletti’s original recipe from 1870. Naturally aromatic, anise seed from Le Marche is distilled in a bain marie, then blended with herbs for further distillation to attain intensified aromatics and a smooth palate. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 4-6 months, then fine filtered using wool, Meletti Anisette is an elegant digestivo that is enjoyable on its own or with coffee.

Among the best of the its category, Meletti made its name experimenting with anise plants from numerous Italian provinces as far back as 1870, determining finally that the best quality anise grew on the Adriatic Coast directly east of Rome. The distillery was founded in Ascoli Piceno on the Adriatic coastal region of Le Marche by Silvio Meletti. Meletti ’ s vision was to source the finest, natural ingredients to utilize as blending agents in his limited - production artisanal cordials, aperitivi, digestivi, and liqueurs.
For a century and a half, this vision has been maintained by each gene ration, with the current CEO ’ s Matteo and Mauro Meletti representing the 5th generation of the family to carry forth the business.

First prepared by 13th century Italian monks as herbal medicines and elixirs, Liqueurs are distilled spirits that have been combined with flavoring agents. A range of herbs, spices, nuts, fruits and flowers can be used, and a sweetener such as sugar or corn syrup is often added. While typically rather sweet, some examples are herbaceous or tart and pair exceptionally well with desserts or act as a delightful addition to cocktails.
