Not because we didn’t believe in it, but because we hadn’t found our way of doing it. In many ways, Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged defines an older whisky, that’s distinctly Maker’s. One rooted in challenging convention, asking "what if" and building on a taste vision that’s generations in the making. By embracing both the maturation impact of our traditional warehouse and the unique maturation impact of our Limestone Cellar, we’ve created an expression that's richer and complex, without the bitterness. The 2025 release is a blend of 11-, 13- and 14-year-old Maker’s Mark, delivering a fruitier, deeper and darker bourbon."

While Cellar Aged, like the flagship Maker's, bears no age statement, it has featured bourbons 11 years or older since its debut in 2023. That very first Cellar Aged landed at No. 6 on our Top 20, and this one—a blend of 11, 13, and 14 year old bourbons—proves that Maker's has more runway for maturation. It's loaded with baking spice, baked apple, frosted cinnamon roll, and orange zest, plus earthier notes of tobacco barn, Cow Tales candy, and cocoa powder. The lengthy finish is defined by more spice, brown sugar, and a bright hint of lemon curd. A bold, dynamic bourbon from this legacy Kentucky distillery.
Although Bourbon may be produced anywhere in the United States, it is most commonly associated with Bourbon County, Kentucky, where it has been produced since the late 18th century. Made from a mash bill containing at least 51% corn, the Bourbon Whiskey distillate must be aged in new, charred white oak barrels. Bourbon Whiskeys are bottled at eighty proof (40% abv) or higher and cannot contain any added color or flavor. A versatile spirit that can be sipped neat, with water or on the rocks, it also performs nicely added to cocktails like the Old Fashioned.
