Mad Fish Shiraz 2014 Front Bottle Shot Mad Fish Shiraz 2014 Front Label

Winemaker Notes

A rich, garnet colour with great density. The nose is generous with rich dark cherry, black & blueberry compote aromas, and subtle savoury notes. The palate offers dark plum, cherry, and chocolate flavours, an earthy complexity, supple tannins, and ample length. An opulent, full-bodied wine with excellent concentrated fruit flavours and soft approachable palate.

Bramble fruit, charred meat, earth and dusty oak lead into a medium-bodied palate that’s got plenty of chewy, drying tannins but also a good deal of acidity to back things up.

Marked by an unmistakable deep purple hue and savory aromatics, Syrah makes an intense, powerful and often age-worthy red. Native to the Northern Rhône, Syrah achieves its maximum potential in the steep village of Hermitage and plays an important component in the Red Rhône Blends of the south, adding color and structure to Grenache and Mourvèdre. Syrah is the most widely planted grape of Australia and is important in California and Washington. Sommelier Secret—Such a synergy these three create together, the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre trio often takes on the shorthand term, “GSM.”
