Winemaker Notes

The nose is energetic, youthful, vibrant, and perfumed. Sage, bay leaf, cumin and dried rosemary are surrounded by a dark core of blackcurrants, cherries, and blueberries. Underlying notes of olive tapenade, dehydrated beetroot, cacao, coffee bean, and anise combine throughout. Generous black fruits meet savory spice, subtle oak, and a granitic feel. The tannins are silky and seamless, with enviable length. A delicate and expressive vintage.

The nose is perfumed and inviting, with aromas of blood plums, dark cherries and licorice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with notes of boysenberries, dried herbs and baking spice framed by a well-structured tannin profile. Very giving and lush. Delicious. Drink or hold.

Elegant flavors of blueberry, marionberry and huckleberry are con- centrated but light on their feet, with an open-knit texture and details of graphite, espresso and cedar. Notes of Earl Grey, white pepper and dried sage linger on the finish.

In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
