Winemaker Notes
This wine is produced with 100% Vernaccia grapes, coming from 5 vineyards located in the northern and southern parts of the Santa Lucia hill. The northern part is velvety and softer, while the southern part is deeper, minerally and vertical. The assembly of these five vineyards results in a balanced blend of Vernaccia grapes. This reflects the fresh, acidic, pungent and vibrant part of the first harvested grapes, while the last ones are intense, fat velvety and rich in fullness.

Aromas of ripe apples and pears with hints of beeswax, crushed almonds and dried herbs. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture. Sleek and polished with good balance and focus overall. From organically grown grapes.
Vernaccia's intricate history is rooted in San Gimignano. The idyllic countryside upon which this vine grows was actually named Italy’s first DOC in 1966. Somm Secret—The 13th century marks its first written record and the grape was celebrated widely in literature, namely poems by Dante and Franseco Redi.
Producing some of Tuscany’s best white wines based on its own variety called Vernaccia, San Gimignano is a small appellation to the west of Chianti centered around the romantic village of the same name. Vernaccia produces a fruity and floral white with plenty of verve on the palate and often a fresh note of raw almond.
