This wine arrests the senses with dazzlingly pure aromas of dark raspberries, cherries, clove, mineral and spice. Flavors are intense, layered, and rich without sacrificing one iota of balance. The plush mouthfeel and long finish only add to the enjoyment and sensory experience. Editors' Choice

Andrew’s outstanding 2012 Grenache Upland Vineyard offers a lifted profile of plums, kirsch, violets and peppery spice, as well a medium to full-bodied, rounded, expansive feel on the palate. Made from 100% Grenache that was raised all in 500-liter puncheons, enjoy this sweetly fruits, sexy Grenache over the coming 4-5 years.

Grenache thrives in any warm, Mediterranean climate where ample sunlight allows its clusters to achieve full phenolic ripeness. While Grenache's birthplace is Spain (there called Garnacha), today it is more recognized as the key player in the red blends of the Southern Rhône, namely Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône and its villages. Somm Secret—The Italian island of Sardinia produces bold, rustic, single varietal Grenache (there called Cannonau). California, Washington and Australia have achieved found success with Grenache, both flying solo and in blends.
