    Winemaker Notes

Classic Sheurebe aromas of grapefruit, though the 2017 leans more towards the white grapefruit side rather than pink. This has the perfect amount of sweetness balanced by spiciness and great acidity.

    Kruger-Rumpf Winery Video

In the family, viniculture has been tradition since 1708. A tradition that has been cultivating in the vineyards as well as in the house which was built back in 1830. For generations, they’ve been admiring and respecting nature, because it’s her who forms the basis for the winery's daily work.

The wine obtains a distinctive character through a close to nature crop growing in the vineyard and a nature-oriented wine production. This family owned winery belongs to Germany’s best wine businesses. The “Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter” (VDP) (a consortium of good wine businesses in Germany) accepted us as a member of the wine region Nahe in 1992.

For generations, it has been our claim to produce wine of highest quality.

Like its parent Riesling, Scheurebe is an aromatic variety made in a range of styles from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. Either style will show high acidity, but not quite as high as Riesling. Crisp and pleasant, it features citrus fruit from lime to grapefruit, as well as pear, blackcurrant, herbs and honeysuckle. It thrives in cool climates, and is most popular in Rheinhessen, Pfalz, Franken and Nahe regions of Germany, as well as Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland

Steep and terraced slopes of a sandstone, porphyry, and slate produce some of Germany’s best Rieslings, which are full of pronounced aromas, spice and mineral.
