Distiller Notes
Over a century ago, I.W. Harper sought to create the world’s most refined whiskey: a timeless Kentucky Straight Bourbon that was a step above. Now I.W. Harper is modernizing whiskey with exceptional style and substance.
Introducing I.W. Harper Cabernet Cask Reserve, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey first aged in new charred American Oak casks, and then finished in luxury Cabernet Sauvignon casks from California. This ultra premium whiskey takes the subtle sweetness and distinct character of fine Cabernet wine and pairs it with our smoothest bourbon to create an exceptional symbol of modern refinement. The result is a wonderfully complex whiskey with flavorful bursts of toasted vanilla, red fruit and spice, for an exceptionally clean, lingering, smooth finish and a rich character.
Enjoy this spirit neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.
Although Bourbon may be produced anywhere in the United States, it is most commonly associated with Bourbon County, Kentucky, where it has been produced since the late 18th century. Made from a mash bill containing at least 51% corn, the Bourbon Whiskey distillate must be aged in new, charred white oak barrels. Bourbon Whiskeys are bottled at eighty proof (40% abv) or higher and cannot contain any added color or flavor. A versatile spirit that can be sipped neat, with water or on the rocks, it also performs nicely added to cocktails like the Old Fashioned.
