On the nose, fruity and spicy with notes of cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, and light peat smoke. The palate is well-Balanced. Notes of honey, apricot, peach, dried tropical fruits, and spicy, light peat. A lengthy finish with oak, cloves, and vanilla.
Hav is the Swedish word for Sea. In the majestic landscape of a world heritage site, High Coast Distillery sits where the beautiful river Ångermanälven merges into the sea. Here, the river is just about to reach the coast and slowly disappear out into the world, just like their single malt whisky. The message Hav brings to the world is an expression of oak, with a touch of spice and a little northern hardiness.

Hav, Swedish for the sea, is part of High Coast’s exceptional Origins series, and its flavor shorthand is oak spice. Wood spices, peat smoke, vanilla cream, and orange peel on the nose precede a lush palate of fruit and spice displaying sweet apricot, peach, honey, and dried tropical fruits, with a lengthy, spicy finish. Matured in bourbon casks, it mingles batches of peated and unpeated spirit, with some components receiving an accelerator period in 40-liter casks coopered from Hungarian and Swedish oak.

Coming in a multitude of styles depending on its origin, Whisk(e)y’s flavors range across the board from the sweet, caramel and vanilla-dominated American Bourbons to the briny, peat-heavy Islay Single Malts from Scotland. Though production methods differ widely, all Whiskeys are made by distilling beer made from some type of grain, such as barley, corn, wheat or rye. After the distillation process is complete, the new, clear spirit is transferred to wooden casks where it matures, a process that can take up to thirty years or more.
