Winemaker Notes
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Grand Napa Vineyards is a dense dark red. The nose has a mix of blackberry, graphite and spice which all come together with a touch of vanilla. Plush tannins with sweet herbs and crushed stones making for a beautiful long finish on the palate.

Winemaker Stéphane Vivier matures this Cabernet in 50% new French oak for 22 months. Classic aromas of blackberry, graphite and sweet oak all come together on this medium- to full-bodied red with crisp acidity, and burly tannins, finishing with sweet herbs and crushed stones.

COMMENTARY: The 2019 Grand Napa Vineyards Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers excellent purity of the grape variety. TASTING NOTES: This wine excels with aromas and flavors of aromatic spices, dried herbs, and berries. Pair it with a grilled, well-marbled ribeye. (Tasted: May 20, 2023, San Francisco, CA)

At Grand Napa Vineyards, they are not just making wine – they are creating memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you're a seasoned wine connoisseur or a newcomer to the world of Napa Valley wines, Grand Napa invites you to join their mission to bring outstanding wines to the world. Rutherford is their land, their history, and the heart of their mission – and they can't wait to share it with you.
One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wine. Today the Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without the other. But it wasn’t until the 1970s that this marriage came to light; sudden international recognition rained upon Napa with the victory of the Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1976 Judgement of Paris.
Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today, covering half of the land under vine, commanding the highest prices per ton and earning the most critical acclaim. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
