Grand Mayan carefully selects a blend of different aged Tequilas with the oldest aged up to five years. Their Extra Aged Anejo Tequila is bottled in hand made traditional Talavera ceramic decanters. These beautiful bottles are hand painted by local artisans in Mexico City.
Perfectly smooth with notes of sweet nuts, blue agave, and rich chocolate. This leads to a layered and delicious long finish.

This 80-proof spirit was twice-distilled in copper pot stills before being aged up to five years and bottled n handmade Talavera style ceramic decanters. The liquid glides across the palate while offering an array of spiced apple, nougat, and incense. Sweet agave notes are punctuated by orange peel. Jasmine, and chocolate.

The hand-painted ceramic bottle is gorgeous, but so is what's in the bottle: a blend of three-four- and five-year old Tequilas. Look for a deep amber hue and complex aromas that unfold jalapeño, brown sugar and cocoa. The palate-coating, slightly viscous palate opens with clove and coriander, warming to cocoa, browned butter, and sarsaparilla, and finishes on black pepper and cinnamon. The overall effect almost reads like a Tequila-based amaro.
Because of their great complexity, Anejo Tequilas are most often used as a substitute for Brandy or Whiskey in cocktails like the Manhattan or Old Fashioned. Anejo Tequilas must be aged in oak barrels for between one and three years, while Extra Anejo refers to any Tequila aged longer than three years. The prolonged contact with the oak barrel allows the wood to make a much stronger impression on the Tequila by adding toffee, caramel and vanilla to the sweet, spicy agave flavor profile.
